About Me
My name is Ashley Marsh. My mission in life is to find out why I was placed on Earth and learn from as many people I can. I am fortunate enough to have a loving family that encourages me to pursue my goals and turn them into my reality. I have the most dedicated and loving parents a girl could ask for, as well as an incredibly intelligent and talented twin sister, Alexis. As a family we enjoy playing card games and board games, going camping, and dancing in the kitchen. My parents are so open-minded and welcoming and have taught me so much about being a prepared and understanding human being.
My favorite color is indigo (because I felt bad for blue when I started to like purple). I love to read: adventure stories, romance novels, science journals, sociological studies - you name it, I'll try it. I love being outdoors and always wish I had the opportunity to grow up somewhere other than the busy suburbs of Chicago. On rainy days I like to jump in puddles and watch documentaries. My favorite thing to eat or drink is a fruit and veggie smoothie - but no dairy, please.
My goals in life are, as I said before, to learn as much about the world around me as possible and learn from every person I interact with. I am currently an undergraduate student at Coe College where I am pursuing a dual degree in Biology and Sociology. Hopefully through my site you will be able to learn about my perspective on these two subjects and come to see how they interact so uniquely. My future plans are to someday obtain a professional degree in other areas of biology and sociology, particularly medical or ecological sociology. I think the structure and frame of societies depends a great deal on the environment in which they arise. It is nearly impossible to overlook one area when truly learning about the other. I hope to, in the near future, find work in the field of public health and one day, possibly, professorship.
Feel free to contact me if you have any direct questions about my travels, or anything you find on my page that might be unclear - I am always looking for guidance from those who are more experienced! I hope you enjoy my blog about the adventures I come across at home in Illinois, Iowa, and around the world!
